What is Acupuncture?
It is an ancient chinese medical art in which fine needles are inserted into specific points in the body in accordance with the symptoms of the patient and pulse information.
Uses of Acupuncture
Acupuncture is mainly used for pain relief and anaesthesia and in the Western countries, it is used to treat chronic pains such as neuralgia and low backache.
Sometimes, acupuncture is also used in the treatment of drug addiction.
In China, acupuncture is used as anasthaetic while carrying out major operations on the conscious patient. And simultaneously, the relaxants and other drugs may be given.
Western doctors have no concrete opinions about the effects of acupuncture but they do not deny the fact that it is the best pain-killer. It is also thought possible that it may interfere with the passage of pain sensations through the various nerve junctions. More likely it is due to the psychological conditioning of the patient.
Do not remain in the illusion that acupunture is an alternative treatment for the diseases like cancer.
But the Chinese claim that the acupuncture needles help to drain harmful forces from the body to restore the natural balance.
