And this causes inflammation which leads to coronary heart disease.

1) Heart Disease and Stroke: Those who are obese or overweight are more likely to suffer from heart diseases and stroke than normal weighing individuals.
It has been one of the major causes of death and disability among men as well as women.
2) Type 2 Diabetes: The risk of developing type 2 diabetes is higher in those people whose weight has increased by 11-18 pounds. Over 80% of those who are diabetic are obese. So if you are diabetic, it is a must to control your weight.
3) Cancer: Obesity is also associated with the increased risk of developing certain cancers such as endometrial, colon, gall bladder, prostate, kidney and post-menopausal breast cancer.
4) Arthritis: This is one major health problem that is directly linked to obesity.
Musculoskeletal disorder including osteoarthritis and gout are prevalent in those who are suffering from morbid or malignant obesity. With every 2 pounds weight gain, the risk of suffering from arthritis increases.
5) Gallbladder Disease: Obese people are at a higher risk from developing gallbladder disease and gallstones. However, the exact cause for obesity leading to this disease is not sure.
These were some of the major chronic diseases that are associated with obesity.
